Pray for Snow

Here’s how skiing and snowboarding work: you take a big mountain, dump a bunch of snow all over it, then you ski or snowboard down the mountain on top of the snow that you dumped all over it. Most of the time there are chairlifts involved, and some of the time there are monoskis involved. Right now in California, we are totally good on mountains, but we have no snow whatsoever. Bone dry.
While we wait for our powder prayers to be answered, we can at least ready our smartphones with the proper snow-reporting software. Ski & Snow Report is the gold standard for both iPhone and Android. Weather forecasts, live snow cams, and an amazing alert function that lets you specify how many inches of powder must fall at your favorite spot before the app alerts you. In the meantime, let’s hope this Snow Dance contest gets results.
