A happy new year to you! Now that 2012 is upon us, it’s time for a fresh start and a few resolutions, like finally creating that one million dollar idea you know will be even more popular than those “2000” sunglasses that relentlessly appear every New Year’s Eve.
Thanks to the Internet, Makers like us can get inspired on a daily basis. Projects like this scrap metal Darth Vader, this gAtari, or this $600 knock-off Hummer go viral and give us hope that we can one day build a dream machine. But what’s more inspiring than seeing an awesome finished product? Seeing an amazing prototype get crowd-funded and go into mass production. I’m talking about Kickstarter.
“Fund and follow creativity” is their tagline and it’s no joke. Makers from around the world and from all different backgrounds – writers, artists, designers, filmmakers – have raised the necessary funding for their dream projects. Get validation for your idea. Get money to make it a reality. What are you waiting for?
P.S. Since it’s a new year and all, why not practice good Karma and donate a few bucks to one of the incredible Kickstarter projects already out there?
