Some Things I Hope Don’t Happen in 2012 (Besides the end of the world)

Slate had a great piece/rant about the various catchphrases, euphemisms, and digital trends that need to disappear. Amongst the things that need to end in 2012 are the aggravating use of hashtags as jokes (#amirite?) as well as every English professor’s worst nightmare: “FAIL,” as in “epic fail.” Here are some things I hope we can avoid in 2012:
- Yet another Modern Battlefield: Call of Gritty Guns IV-style game.
- Any more changes to my precious Facebook interface. Timeline scares me.
- Please, no more Groupon-style, social coupon start-ups.
- Reboots of superhero movies. How many Spidermen and Hulks can there be??
What do you want to avoid in 2012? Tell us in the comments or on Twitter @WIREDInsider.
