The holidays are over, but the cold weather is not. This snow globe project looks cool, but will keep you warm as you recreate your home from the comfort of your own home. (P.S. you might want to bookmark this as a totally awesome family gift idea for the 2012 holiday season).
It’s not surprising to hear that a visual effects artist created this charming home-within-a-home idea. Ordering a custom snow globe kit and taking pictures of your house are the easy parts. From there, you’ll have to build a CG model of your house with a program like Google SketchUp then send it to a 3D printer like Shapeways.
