MAKE YOUR OWN STANDING DESK

Standing desks are liberating. They make you feel like your butt isn’t glued to your office chair for eternity (or until the clock strikes five). But there’s one area they won’t make you feel free–your wallet.
Most standing desks are adjustable because hey, while sitting all day is killing us slowly, standing up all day isn’t that great for our bodies either. Adjustable means there’s a hand crack, electric power, or a gas lift, and some of those options come with a price tag starting at $600 and easily tip over into $1,000 territory.
A DIY stand-up desk is surprisingly expensive (unlike this Vespa desk) so the idea must be simplified. Instead of “adjustable,” give your desk only one sitting option and one standing option. If you’re really worried about your health and already have a treadmill at home, you can make a walking desk for $10.
Or, if you’re OK with it, just adjust yourself. Buy a tall stand-up desk with a high chair. Stand or sit when you want. Ta-da! Read more at Lifehacker.
