There’s many kinds of cyclists in this world. Some are concerned with speed. Others, concerned with comfort. Still others are just strange beasts. But some like their cycling just downright beautiful.
Enter Alden seats, a Kickstarter project centered on bringing a touch of class to your rear end. The brainchild of Carson Alden Leh, the saddles (that’s bike talk for “seats”) take cues from classic footwear, with broguing—hole patterns originally used on shoes for ventilation—decorating richly tanned and stitched leather. The saddle, perhaps taking inspiration from fine shoes, are stitched rather than riveted.
Starting at about $100-$150 for a gorgeous custom saddle, Alden seats are a great choice if you’re looking for something different than the Brooks saddles that caress every hipster’s bottom.
