NO MORE LOST TOURISTS!

If there’s one thing that technology is still reinventing, it’s tourism. Sure, GPS devices and mobile apps make getting around easier, and flight trackers tell us when our plane is delayed, but today’s traveler yearns for more tech-savvy advances to get from here to there.

That’s where Urbanscale and Nordkapp come in. They see interactive screens as the future of big cities, and Helsinki and Chicago will be the first to experience it. Urbanflow replaces boring information booths, framed paper subway maps, and slow cell phone service to help you find everything you need on your voyage. Ever just feel so completely lost and hungry while traveling and wished you could get in front of a big computer screen and search your way out of there? That’s what Urbanflow does.

But these screens aren’t just one-sided: Users can search for sights plus the fastest directions on how to get there right now, but locals and visitors can also report an incident, like an accident or vandalism. My favorite part is the personalized pocket-size itinerary users can print that then doubles as a public transportation ticket. Much better than a standard brochure.
