The health/fitness sector of the tech startup world is tough. You may be first to market with a tracker like Jawbone UP or a training app like GAIN Fitness, but you know you’ve only got the spotlight for a matter of weeks before the Nike behemoth holds a rock concert/press conference event in New York announcing a similar tracker or a similar training app. Last month they released the FuelBand bracelet to compete with UP, and this week they’re adding a major update to Nike+ in the form of Nike+ Training and Nike+ Basketball .
The gist is that Nike+ is evolving from a run tracking system to a technology that’ll track cross-training workouts. Now, instead of a chip in your shoe, Nike+ is the shoe. Get the whole rundown here, and check out GadgetLab’s review of that aforementioned FuelBand.
