THE INSTAGRAM DESKTOP APP

I like apps that you don’t have to learn. You just download them, open them up, spend a few minutes pressing buttons to see what happens, and that’s it—you’re now a power user. My latest, favorite example is a wonderful Mac app for viewing your Instagram feed. It’s called Carousel , and it’s the best $1.99 you’ll spend on the Mac App Store this month.
Carousel does exactly and only what you need it to do: view popular photos, your feed, and your likes. The only other features are a user search, theme options for the app, and the ability to drag photos straight to the desktop to save full-size versions. And that’s plenty.
