Miss the familiar buzzing and beeping of dial-up Internet? That surge of anger you experienced when someone picked up the phone and booted you offline? The terrible graphics and floppy disks of the 80s and 90s? No? Me either.
Sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and reflect on how far we’ve come. As much as we love to hate being connected all the time, social networks and gaming as we know it today were completely non-existent just 10 or 20 years ago. What did we do without them?
A series of hilarious flashback videos shows us what our favorite websites would have looked like in decades of yore with technology of the past. Web editor Jo Luijten created the videos which include a sneak peak of “The Facebook” in the 90s, a Twitter dial-up video featuring the glorious 1980s, plus videos where Angry Bird and Draw Something get an awesome arcade soundtrack and a huge downgrade in pixels.
