The net has become the greatest platform for hijinks and hilarity on April Fool’s Day. The Smarter Upstarter already told us about his favorite April Fool’s Day pranks, but I think there are a few gems that he missed. Here’s a rundown of some really great gags that made April 1st:
XKCD “Umwelt”. “Umwelt” refers to the idea that different sensory experiences can lead to different realities, even when based on the same stimuli. This comic plays off of that and serves up different comics based on your browser, geolocation, operating system, and other factors. Try it out—load the comic in different browsers! Trippy.
Reddit Timeline. Reddit outdid themselves (and poked fun at the Timeline phenomenon) by creating a dozen or so “alternate” Reddits throughout history.
Kodak LIVEPrint. Cats. Need I say more?
Warby BARKER. Because even our four-legged friends need 20/20.
