In an epic partnership of social forces, Facebook bought Instagram, the photography app that instantly makes every picture look cool. It got me thinking about what other collaborations could happen:
Twitter should buy Yelp: With all the people who are twitpic-ing their meals and complaining about restaurants via tweets, there’s got to be some way to combine these two services. It would be beneficial for those of us who are too lazy to write a lengthy review on Yelp anyway…
Tumblr should buy Pinterest: Everyone went ballistic with the discovery of Pinterest which means that a lot of people must not know that Tumblr acts in a similar way–sure you can’t divide images by category, but you can create cool visuals featuring all the things you love.
Foursquare should buy Shazam: One knows where you are and the other knows what you’re listening to. Maybe they could combine to read your feelings like a mood ring or to read the minds of those near you. Hey, it could happen!
