HOW TO WIN AT CROWDFUNDING

Makers are creative people. And when creative people get a little business-minded, good things can happen. Really good things. Take Kickstarter for example. Their latest campaign blew the million-dollar mark of weeks past and is still growing strong at more than $5 MILLION DOLLARS. So stop sitting on your million-dollar idea-–there may be a lot of people out there who are willing to back you. Here’s how to get started:
MAKE AN AWESOME VIDEO: Besides spending the time to produce a quality product, you must spend time on quality design. Your product should be ready for an official launch, which includes a thoughtful and well-executed marketing campaign.
CREATE KILLER INCENTIVES: Sites like Kickstarter let you give rewards to those who donate a certain amount-–a limited edition version of your product, a producer credit, or a personal lesson with the inventors. Be creative.
REACH OUT TO YOUR NETWORK: You gotta start somewhere, and that somewhere is with your friends, family, and colleagues. There’s no guarantee that your idea will latch on with the general public so don’t be too proud to ask for help.
