First there was Google Glasses. Then there was Instagram, the Camera. Well what if these two misguided attempts at technology somehow created a deformed offspring from an unholy union? Could the world be ready for something so terrifying?
You bet. A concept called “instaglasses” by designer Markus Gerke would allow a wearer to filter not just images, but the world itself. It’s like the movie “Them” but for hipsters. After filtering, you can then take and upload photos directly from the glasses. That means you’ve got a loaded, armed camera ready on your face at all times! All your friends will need to constantly be checking their disheveled hair and the lighting on their new calf tattoos.
Fortunately, it’s just a concept, although admittedly an intriguing one. It’s only a matter of time before some kind of camera is mounted on some kind of glasses. Until then, we’re just going to have to use our phones like a bunch of Neanderthals.
