TWITTER UNLIKED

It’s been nice knowing you, #in. I’ve written about the useful sharing hashtags “#fb” and “#in” here before; they’re my everyday tools for sending out tweets that I’d like to show up on Facebook and/or LinkedIn as well. Lately Twitter has been “evolving its strategy”, and this has led to a change in the way they work with LinkedIn. And not for the better: From now on LinkedIn won’t be able to display any tweets in its “updates” timeline.

This stinks. LinkedIn’s updates feed was starting to become a regular destination for me, where I could quickly see a Twitter summary from my LinkedIn contacts. Now that feed goes back to being merely a list of who’s newly-connected to who, unless someone specifically chooses to post an update directly from LinkedIn. Snore.

Dear Internet: Please start a petition to reverse this. Smarter Upstarter is standing by to offer his endorsement!
