A new CA-based tech company, ChowNow, is doing its part to drag restaurants out of the stone age. The company, which bills itself as an “online ordering [platform] for the mobile and social era,” equips each of its restaurants with an online ordering system that includes custom iPhone, Facebook, and website ordering apps.
In a meet-up with the Gastronaut, CEO and co-founder Chris Webb says ChowNow “is leveling the playing field when it comes to technology in the restaurant industry” and pioneered facebook ordering by allowing “restaurants to monetize their Facebook page”. Instead of Domino’s getting your business because it’s easier to go to their website, order food, pay, watch the progress of the order and know when it’s going to show up, it’s just as convenient for you to order from your local pizza shop with ChowNow. ChowNow has expanded to 25 states since hitting the marketplace in the last few months and shows no signs of stopping!
