MAKE YOUR OWN PORTAL GUN

Love the game Portal? Love Legos? Well today’s your lucky day.
Thanks to one Mall of America Lego Store employee and one year of his hard design work, we can now all ooh and ahh over this Lego Portal gun. Using Lego Mindstorms NXT and about 2,000 pieces, the artist created a gun that actually lights up and prongs that really move. See the video of the Portal gun in action at WIRED’s GeekDad.
If you’re not interested in spending a year designing your own brick version, head on over to Instructables for detailed directions on how to create your own Portal gun from PVC pipes, black cables, and LEDs. It’s a little more realistic and a little more durable.
