Maps. Whether you’re using them to track your runs or track your travel, the digital mapping scene is only getting better. It seems that some people are finally figuring out how to integrate social features (like tweets, pics, and tips) onto a Google-map-ish interface without it looking like a big mess.

My latest favorite is Pinwheel, created by the cofounder of Flickr. If you love Foursquare, you’ll love leaving notes on any location around the world. The note can be public, private, for a group, or organized into sets. Users can follow people, places, and sets. When it comes to travel, there’s a lot of potential here…
