TURN YOUR PHONE INTO A TRANSIT CARD

Image via Adafruit

I’m happy to say that I’ve never lost my phone. But I’ll tell you one thing I always lose–transit cards! As soon as I stock them with more funds, it’s almost guaranteed that I’ll lose it. If you find yourself frequenting the local public transportation scene daily, this hack could save you time and money.

Step one: get the RFID antennae and chip from your paper metro card. Dissolve the card in acetone and remove the important parts. Now here comes the trickier part–the tag needs to be placed under you iPhone back, but the spacing needs to be just right in order to read. Try using paper and tape until it scans correctly. Watch the how-to video over at Adafruit.
