WEAR RED, MAKE TIPS

Attention all female waitresses: there is now a scientifically proven way to increase your tips, and it has nothing to do with bringing out the bread faster.
According to a Science Daily article, a recent issue of the Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research contained a published study concluding that male restaurant patrons will tip tangibly higher if their female waitress is wearing red. Seriously.
And, the study continues, there is no downside to the practice–-while the rouge-tinted tipping tool does not seem to work on female patrons, it also does not work against itself. Color, it seems, has no effect on female tipping.
So what do you have to lose? Nothing. What do you have to gain? Money.
Unless you have some unnatural aversion to the color red (no judgment here), we’d suggest throwing it on next time you head to the restaurant.
