HOW TO FLY LIKE A SMARTER UPSTARTER

Thanks to the TSA, baggage fees, and bad standup comedy, flying doesn’t currently enjoy a great reputation. But if you know what you’re doing, a la George Clooney in “Up in the Air”, air travel can be simple, relaxing, and even fun. Here’s how to fly like Smarter Upstarter.
Step One: Use a travel tool like Google Flights or Hipmunk to do your research and booking. Hipmunk’s great because it shows you which flights have WiFi.
Step Two: Check out SeatGuru to get the lowdown on the plane you’re riding in. You may be able to select a seat equipped with a power port or a bit more legroom.
Step Three (Optional): Download the GateGuru app in case of a layover. It’ll clue you in on the best places to eat and charge your phone.
Remember to wear slipon shoes (with socks) if possible, and comfortable pants with no belt. Last thing: see if your destination city has any bus or subway smartphone apps, because Uber isn’t everywhere…yet.
