THREE TECHSTARS COMPANIES TO WATCH

Image via Andrew-Hyde

Here’s something I’ll bet you didn’t know. TechStars, the Boulder, CO based startup accelerator, has only seen 17 of its companies fail since 2006. Last last week they held their latest Demo Day in Boulder. Here are a few highlights:

Birdbox

It sounds like this should already exist: a single place to view, organize, and store your photos and videos, no matter where they live on the web. But it doesn’t, and so Birdbox was born. Birdbox, currently invite-only, connects to many of the services you already use, like Dropbox and Flickr.

DealAngel

A hotel search engine that displays rates in terms of fair market value. They’re independent (i.e. not affiliated with any hotel chain), so the price results are based purely on criteria such as star ratings, location, and past pricing.

Digital Ocean

How’s this for an elevator pitch: deploy a cloud-based virtual server for yourself, your startup or your small business in less than 60 seconds. Well then.
