THE NEW DINING FAD: CELL PHONE FREE

Cell phones are annoying to everyone but the people using them. That’s nothing new. But now, one LA-area restaurant is taking the commitment to re-discovering a time before cells to the next level.
According to a recent Eater article, Eva Restaurant is offering a 5% discount to any and all diners willing to hand over their mobile phones during their meal. The purpose, surprisingly, is not only to appease others in the restaurant, but to heighten the dining experience for those handing over their phones, as well.
Great, in theory-–or, as Eater points out, dangerous, depending on who you happen to be dining with. Choose wisely…
