STAY SAFE WITH YOUR CELL

Image via WIRED

How many of you actually have an ICE number in your phone? You know the “In Case of Emergency” contact that allegedly emergency staff will call if you’re knocked out and your cell phone is within their reach? I have only clearly labeled “Mom” and “Dad” contacts and my phone has a lock on it, so I guess that’s a dead end for anyone who’s trying to help me.

If you’d like to be more prepared, EmergencyLink is here to save the day. The free service and app stores emergency contacts, health information, and important documents. It even lets you select whom you’d want to be contacted and what you’d want to tell the doctor in an emergency. First responders then have immediate access to your private information if need be. Not interested? You can join the ranks of about one million people a year who remain unconscious for a couple days before being indentified.
