The Daily Meal reports that a new study was just done in Canada (calm down, it’s legitimate) suggesting that women who stress over their jobs are at higher risk for diabetes.
Moreover, the AFP continues, this connection can be further pinpointed to women who stress over lack of control in their daily professional lives, or “low job control.” However, men don’t seem to suffer from a similar affliction.
Likely, the article concludes, this difference can be attributed to the way men and women handle stress – or, in laymen’s terms, women love the vending machine (and cheese counter, and Chinese food takeout place…) when stress rears its ugly head.
So, what does this mean for you, successful ladies of the working world (or for your wives, sisters, girlfriends, and friends, you ever-so-supportive men)? Staying organized and standing up for yourself in the office can keep you calm, and keep you healthy.
Or at least, staying away from the greasy foods can. It’s a win-win.
