CHARM IN A BOTTLE

OK, I’ll admit I have a weakness for good design and sometimes a sexy package is enough to seduce me. Take, for example, the new chrome-and-black vessel that Montblanc designed to house its new Legend Eau de Toilette. Modeled on the brand’s flagship Meisterstuck series, the bottle is minimal, yet stylish, and I’m proud to display it, much like I would a fine scotch. Fortunately, the contents also don’t disappoint.

In a few words, Montblanc Legend is charismatic, intelligent, and confident. There are tones that indicate a jet-setting sensibility like notes of tonka beans, revered for their spicy mix of vanilla, almond, cinnamon, and cloves, as well as exotic sandalwood. It’s down-to-earth, yet effortlessly assertive and mysterious. No doubt, it’s a fitting addition to the Montblanc’s legacy of luxury.

A longtime purveyor of finely crafted watches, accessories, leather goods, and writing tools, Montblanc has put “Meisterstuck” at the core of its design philosophy. In German, Meisterstuck means “masterpiece,” or “meeting the discerning caliber of an expert craftsman.” Likewise, this is an artisan product from the inside out—or outside in—depending on your perspective.
