MAKE THE OLD NEW

Image via Reintji

If there’s one thing a maker knows how to do, it’s how to turn trash into treasure. Here are a few tips on transforming your techno-garbage into modern marvels:

Classic Nintendo DVD Player

My NES is still in perfectly working condition, but if you aren’t as lucky, you might want to give it a new life with this hack. Basically all you need to do is place the circuitry of a DVD player into the NES case. Simple, right?

USB Game Controller

Sure you could go buy a reproduction USB game controller. Or you can be awesome and turn that original controller from your non-working NES (that’s now a DVD player) into a USB-enabled device. You’ll just need to connect a little ribbon cable to each button.
