THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR OLD IPHONE

Image via WIRED

Now that the apologies are done, let’s get down to tacks: what do you do with your old iPhone? The thing IS a marvel of engineering, so trashing it is out of the question. Besides, there’s profit to be made. There’s lots of ideas but they basically fall into a few big buckets.

Cash-in.
You can sell iPhones, even old, broken ones, for cold cash on Craigslist or eBay. Or turn it into a retailer for credit. Gamestop is giving up hundreds in store credit for iPhones.

Keep it.
The iPhone is, even sundered from its mobile phone network, still a great entertainment device. Use it as a camera. As a small iPad or reader. Plug it into a stereo for instant internet radio. Or keep it around just in case something happens to your other phone.

Be the Nice Guy.
If all else fails, use it as the ultimate karma chip. Give it to your kids, parents, or to charity and watch their eyes light up like Christmas.
