I’M THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MYSPACE ACCOUNT. SERIOUSLY.

Myspace hasn’t relaunched yet, but a new sizzle reel makes the site look damn well enticing. If the preview is in any way accurate, we could see a Myspace that follows the, as I call it, Big Pictures and Minimal Text School of Web Design and User Experience. The UX draws heavily from Pinterest (and Medium, in my opinion), with lots of scrolling, squares, flipping squares, and scrolling flipped squares. Also central to the experience seems to be music. Myspace never faded away completely, as music artists small and large flocked to it as an easy way to showcase tracks. The new Myspace will probably have music at its core, making it a kind of Facebook meets Spotify.
I’m honestly looking forward to this. The Facebook experience as of late has become a bit, quite frankly, muddled and clunky. And being the free capitalist I am, more competition is only a good thing.
What do you think about Myspace? Gonna log in?
