Is your gym membership collecting cobwebs? There’s an app for that.

Let’s be honest – there’s only one thing that will motivate you to go to the gym. It’s not losing weight or looking great. It’s cash. The GymPact iOS app rewards exercise fiends with money. How does that work?

You commit to a schedule (say 3 times per week) and check in to the gym upon arrival. If your workout was at least 30 minutes, you get to collect a reward of about 50 to 75 cents. Feeling lazy? Your credit card will be charged $5 (or more if you agree to it). And that $5 is going straight into the pockets of people who hit the treadmill today. Get it?

Don’t worry – if you’re on vacation, get injured, or are sick, there are options for modifying your workout commitment. And thanks to their partnership with RunKeeper, outdoor jogs count too.
