Remember when you first got addicted to Angry Birds? You played that first easy level, tapped the “next” button to see what level two looked like, and all of a sudden it was nightfall, you couldn’t remember what day it was, and you were freaking out because you were almost out of levels to play.
Something similar happened to me the other day with LearnStreet, an early-stage startup that aims to change the way people learn to program. Somehow I followed a link to their site, and noticed a console (the window programmers write code in) embedded right on LearnStreet’s homepage. “Go ahead, type 1 and hit enter,” beckoned LearnStreet. So I did. You can see the results above. I hadn’t even clicked a single link on the site and I’d already taken my first step to learning Ruby. Another 45 minutes went by before I realized what was going on. Well done, LearnStreet, here’s to another great site dedicated to teaching us how to code.
