3D PRINT YOUR RIDE
Video via Core77
3D printing is the closest we’ve gotten to the Star Trek replicator so far. So while 3D printing could lead to the printing of some scary things, it can also lead to amazing things.
Like 3D printed bikes. Sorta. Bike maker Charge Bikes and aeronautical firm EADS are working together to make, get this, titanium 3D printed bike parts. It’s not the whole frame, just the drop outs, which are the part of the frame that accepts the rear wheel.
It’s not quite a full bicycle, but we’re not far from when you can print the ride for your commute while putting on your skinny jeans. How you like me now, replicator?
