DIY DESKTOP POWER OUTLET

Image via Instructables
There are never enough outlets in a room and they’re never in the right spots. It’s just a fact. Recently I found myself in quite the plug conundrum – the sole outlet nearest to my desk needs to charge a laptop, radio, lamp, and an iPhone. Not possible. And power strips are ugly.
I broke down and bought a power strip anyway, but now I won’t even need it. With one trip to the hardware store, I can make this DIY desktop project that’s convenient and looks good. A power outlet, cover, electrical box, and an extension cord make your basic box, which can then be finished off with classic wood or any other covering of your choice. Easy.
