The Biggest Social Media Event of the Decade?
Between YouTube and Twitter, princess-to-be Catherine Middleton definitely has her “something new” and “something blue” covered.
From blogging on the Official Royal Wedding website to streaming the ceremony live starting at 5 AM ET on the official YouTube Channel, the Royal Monarchy left no social media stone unturned.
On Twitter, Westminster Abbey and Clarence House will tweet live updates during Friday’s festivities. Images tagged with “rw2011” will fill The British Monarchy’s official Flickr stream. (Check out the special stream just for the cake.)
Wedding wishes for the bride and groom are pouring in on the official video wedding book on YouTube and on the Royal Wedding Stories tab on The British Monarchy Facebook page.
It’s not too late to send a gift online – a charitable one that is. The couple set up a Royal Wedding Charity Fund for those who wish to celebrate their big day with a contribution to five special causes.
Friday’s Royal Wedding will be a historic moment (and a national holiday) for the United Kingdom as well as a monumental moment for social media everywhere.
