Eye on Adam Warrock
People say hip hop is dead. I prefer to think to think of it as being undead. Enter Adam Warrock, a nerdcore rapper with a growing following. A former attorney, Warrock’s lyrics are compact, sharp, and critical of society. But don’t think he’s just a serious cat. His work touches upon everything pop culture, and he’s got entire tracks dedicated to X-Men characters (if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like if Havok spit serious rhymes, listen to Warrock). The fact that many of Warrock’s public shows are at comic book shops and conventions proves he’s a rapper of the people.
While Warrock’s rock is still evolving, and his production values could use some benjamins, you can’t deny the raw energy in his work, even if that energy is plasma-based.
