Slow Motion Summer

The July WIRED issue hit my mailbox yesterday, and I was psyched to see that it’s time once again for the Summer Test mega-review. What’s that? You’ve already had the issue for a week because you read WIRED on your iPad? Well look who’s fancy.
Whether you’ve got the analog or digital version, this month there’s some great beach/park/patio reading for those of us (me) who like to use summer (and all other seasons) as an excuse to bolster our gear arsenals. Of particular note is a look at three “Low-Light Videocams” in there; a severely underrated feature worth considering on your next purchase. My recommendation? The Sony or the JVC .
If you’re going to spend some dough on a new camera this year, for godssakes please please please also make sure it can capture at 60fps. That way you can get slow-motion footage if you want—remember, we all look roughly 35% more awesome in slo-mo.
