Dropp This, Oink That

What’s the first mobile app you think of when someone says “let’s check in?”  What’s the first one you think of when you’re out and someone says “let’s check the reviews?” Foursquare and Yelp?  That was a test … and you passed!  But don’t get too comfortable, because there are some players out there shaking up the “check-in” and “review” spaces.

Already available in the iTunes app store is Dropp, a location-based app that lets you “dropp” your location on a map, and leave recommendations and reviews.  Kind of like leaving Post-It notes for people all over the city to let them know where you were and what you did.

And, coming soon is Oink, the first offering from the much-ballyhooed Kevin Rose startup Milk.  Oink is a tool that will allow you to “vote, rank, and share the world around you.”  Are we ready for a world where we’re “Oinking” at each other?
