Facebook Knows You’re Pregnant

In the grand tradition of over-sharing on Facebook – which includes your wedding planning to-do list, photos of your honeymoon hotel room, naked pregnancy belly pics, and how many times your baby pooped today – there’s a new and somewhat controversial profile update: “Expected: Child.”
The good news is that Facebook knows you’re pregnant only because you told Facebook you were pregnant. Is anything sacred these days? However, we’re not just talking about oversharing with your “300 closest friends” here. We’re talking about serious life consequences including the fact that not all pregnancies make it full-term and the chance that employers may find out about your pregnancy through Facebook gossip before you notify them.
I digress. If you really want to share the news with your Facebook world, here’s how to do it: Edit Profile>Friends and Family>Add another family member>Select Relation. You can even add a name and due date.
